Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and evaluate existing corporate human resources policies. Plan and direct any recommended changes and improvements;
  • Responsible for all hiring activities, including: recruiting, interviews and the selection of employees to fill any and all vacancies; (experience with an ATS is a plus)
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct new employee orientation programs;
  • Oversee record keeping for the insurance coverage related to the workforce;
  • Investigate incidents and prepare reports; Keep records and manage all training and development programs of workforce;
  • Oversee the record keeping for company health and welfare plan and 401(k) plan;
  • Work in conjunction with Payroll Manager in the oversight of the company’s salary structure and wage rates. Ensures accurate and on time payroll distribution;
  • Direct the company’s annual performance review and compensation review processes;
  • Manage Driver Qualification files;
  • Management of workers compensation files & claims;
  • Maintain Unemployment claims;
  • Compensation management knowledge, including performing salary surveys & studiesAdvises and coaches managers on HR best practices and acts as front person to resolve employee relation issues and concerns for total employee population including Spanish-speaking employees;
  • Will participate and collaborate as a member of the Abt Safety Committee; (Safety is a top priority). 
  • Basic research skills, sound judgment and problem-solving skills, integrity, adherence to standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct, accountability, and a service-oriented work style; participate in maintaining a positive work culture;
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills;
  • Good listener & sense of humor, doesn't sweat the small stuff and can roll with the punches.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of related HR experience preferably in a retail environment, with at least 5 years of management experience;
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources;
  • HR Certification (SPHR/PHR or SHRM-SCP);
  • Strong computer and analytical skills;
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented;
  • Working knowledge of Dayforce (Ceridian) a plus;
  • Spanish language fluency a plus.
